Take in the delights of a magical half-day excursion to historical Skjerjehamn, once an important trade post along the coast and now a popular destination for boaters, food lovers and for weekend breaks.
Stop by the gallery with changing exhibitions, on your way to the old shop on the dock where homesmoked salmon, souvenirs and snacks are for sale, and take a walk in our garden, where the majestic monument of King Olav V reigns.
You can start this tour from the bus station in Bergen or from the quay in Norheimsund. If you start from Bergen, you get the bus to Norheimsund where the boat takes you to the inner reaches of what is called “the queen of Norwegian fjords”.
On this incredible fjordcruise to the inner part of Hardanger- fjorden you will see many beautiful villages and settlements encircled by majestic mountains with snow-covered peaks.
If you take the trip in May or June, you may also experience the fruit trees in full blossom. You have around three hours to explore Eidfjord by yourself, or you can join the Eidfjord Excursion.
Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord, is located in the middle of Fjord Norway and stretches right into the foot of Jotunheimen and Jostedalen national park.
Nature is both dramatic and hospitable, and you can take part in exhilarating activities. We recommend you make a stop at one of the charming settlements along the fjord, explore the area, and continue your travel the next day. Explore the magnicent Sognefjord by boat this summer.
